Meet the Sons of Erin Foundation Board

  • Dr. John Shea - President

    Dr. Shea is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon in private practice in Nashville who is also an Assistant Clinical Professor with Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He previously served 15 years in the U.S. Navy, which included obtaining residency training in his specialty and then being an attending at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. He is one of the founding members of the Ancient Order of Hibernians Sons of Erin division in Nashville, serving as president from 2021 to 2023. He and his wife Jennifer live in Hendersonville and have two children and one grandchild.

    Chris O'Connor, MBA - Treasurer

    Chris O’Connor is a highly experienced Information Technology professional who served in the U.S. Army for 21 years before retiring. Throughout his career, Mr. O’Connor has demonstrated exceptional expertise in service management, process measurement, and improvement within information technology. Even after retirement, he has remained dedicated to serving the community through active involvement in the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Ancient Order of Hibernians, the Knights of Columbus, and various historical society boards.

    Willie Brezsnyak, MHSA - Secretary

    Willie Brezsnyak is a retired healthcare executive with over 30 years of experience in both nonprofit and for-profit sectors. His career spans various roles in tertiary and community hospital care, as well as outpatient services. He led the IPRO’s CMS-CKD Quality Improvement Project, aimed at enhancing outcomes for Medicare beneficiaries with chronic kidney disease in New York State. In addition to his healthcare contributions, Mr. Brezsnyak established a nonprofit healthcare foundation in New York City and has been actively involved in his community, serving as a volunteer firefighter for 20 years and holding leadership roles within his church and the Knights of Columbus. He is also known for his dedication to his Irish American heritage, having founded two nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations in Nashville, Tennessee.
